It's ugly as sin.

But... mini XJ!

why wouldn't you. the only problem with Jags of that era is they they have reliablity issues, especially electric gremlins. I remember seeing one 04 S-type where the radio just didn't work like it just decided not to, but also the hood flew open at 60mph(because I'm an idiot) and it barely even creased the hood. So i'd say they still have some quality to them.
Plus we're car guys we're supposed to think "Reliability be damned! I want to drive this car because it's special, and it if breaks I'll fix it myself!HAHA HAHA HAA"

It's a fine car to me. I don't see any problem with it, not even the Mondeo underpinnings. And as far as I remember, the Mondeo was a great car.

Exactly, and you get to say you have a Jaaaag.

I like them too. You could also get a manual.

You're not as alone as you might think.
I used to search for manual X Type wagons constantly to the point that now I think I'm more likely to find a low mileage unicorn on AutoTrader.com than an X Type wagon with a 5 speed.

And a diesel.

Well, it's just a rebodied Mondeo and they're fairly dependable so why not?

I hate them less and less over time. There's one near me with the license plate "MyJag", which kinda makes me wish he had saved up a little longer, but still.
At least it isn't an S Type.

And a wagon.
